Annie LeibovitzAnnie Leibovitz is a photographer born in Connecticut, October 2nd, 1949. Growing up, she moved around frequently due to her father being in the US Air Force. She learned and developed her artistic skills at the San Francisco Art Institute.
She began her career by working at Rolling Stone magazine, and she later moved on to work for Vanity Fair. She continued to work on a variety advertising campaigns and eventually began to publish and exhibit her own photos. Leibovitz is known for photography of the rich and famous. Some fo her inspirations include Robert Frank and Henri Cartier-Bresson. She has a trademark of using bold colours as well as dramatic poses that often strike up controversial conversations. |
Irving PennIrving Penn was a photographer born June 16th, 1917. He grew up in Jewish family, and attended Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Arts. He began his artistic career by taking design classes and publishing drawings.
In 1942, he went through a period of self-doubt after quitting his job. However he overcame this and went on to have a piece become the cover of an issue of Vogue magazine. Throughout his career he experimented with many printing techniques such as printing with aluminum sheets coated with platinum emulsion. Penn had an affinity for black and white photography. During his photography career, he primarily worked in fashion and portraiture. His work continues to inspire artists worldwide, even after his unfortunate death on October 7th, 2009. |

Vincent VersaceVIncent Versace is a contemporary photographer. Vincent developed an interest in photography early on, when his uncle demonstrated the beauty of the camera. He soon began to take his own pictures and sell his own work, at a an extremely young age.
Vincent is also one of Nikon's founding ambassadors; Nikon considers Versace to be an excellent visual storyteller. He has written many novels concerning his techniques. Versace is well known for his use of natural light, which appears in not only his photography but also in his digital and technical work. |
